  • Jan 2006: Peter Birtles appointed as Managing Director
  • May 2006: Announced plans for reinvigorating the Supercheap Auto business:

  • Oct 2006: Opened sourcing office in Hangzhou
  • June 2008: Acquisition of Melbourne based Goldcross Cycles with eleven bicycle and
    accessories retail stores, surpasses 300 stores for the Group
  • Aug 2008: Supercheap Auto wins 2008 Australian Retailer of the Year (ARA Award)
  • June 2010: Acquisition of Ray's Outdoors, an outdoor leisure retailer with 38 stores in five Australian states. Ray's Outdoors was established in 1958 in Geelong as a disposals store
  • November 2010: Super Cheap Auto Group Limited renamed as Super Retail Group Limited
  • June 2011: Supercheap Auto wins 2011 Australian Retailer of the Year (Oracle Retail World Award)
  • Oct 2011: Acquisition of the Rebel Group, including Rebel Sport and Amart All Sports businesses, taking Group network to 564 stores and over 10,000 team members
  • Nov 2011: FCO Fishing Camping Outdoors officially launched in New Zealand with 10 stores
